Lots to do

I can hardly believe this is already the second Monday of the new year. I've lost a lot of cleaning jobs over this last year, about 2 thirds of them. I keep praying that God would send me more cleaning jobs, but I keep losing more. I think maybe God has something else He wants me to do. I'll just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail me.

We had a great weekend. Lots of friends and family visiting. Good food and fellowship. Today, there's lots I want to get done here at home. I need to exercise, clean, work on budget, cook. I never run out of stuff to do here.

Happy New Year!

Well, it's already 7 days into the new year and I'm posting my first blog of 2010. I'm finally feeling well after over 3 weeks of being sick in December. Went to doctor on December 23 after feeling so bad for too long. Cold, turned into sinusitus, I don't know what else. Got antibiotics. One week later, woke up with a rash, hives. Went back to doc. Got an epinephrine shot and prescription for prednisone. Got worse before I got better. Praise God I'm better.

I've lost a lot of cleaning jobs over the last year. Over two thirds of them. Every time I lose another one, I say to God as Job did, The Lord gives, the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord. I'm praying for more work and also if God wants me to do something else, I'm praying He makes it clear to me. Maybe He wants me to spend more time painting, or with my grandsons, or teaching the younger women to be good wives and mothers or some other ministry. I don't know. But I do know this. I'm willing. Lord, show me.

Christmas Day 2009

Had a wonderful day with Lewis, my 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 2 grandsons. Ate a great brunch. Christmas Stollen, first time I've made this- sooo good, mexican eggs(Matt made)yum, turkey bacon, fried taters, fruit salad and Dunkin doughnuts coffee. Then we read the Christmas Story and opened a few presents. The men went to the basement for a while and played darts and the women and kids watched a Madagascar Christmas video. Took a lot of pictures. Two of the sons and families have gone home now and Lewis and Matthew have gone for a walk up the hill behind our house hunting.

I'm so thankful for the wonderful gift God sent to us so many years ago. His son. I can't imagine what that must have been like. I also can't imagine what it must have been like to be Mary. To be given such a responsibility of raising the Son of God. When I read that story when my sons were little, I would try to think how Mary raised Jesus and I'd pray that God would help me to be a mother like her and try and treat my sons as I would if I was raising Jesus. He did help me. I have some awesome sons. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

December 2009

It's been a while since writing here. I don't have a good excuse so I'm just going to write now. I've got a nasty cold. Feelin' yucky. I have so much to be thankful for though. A wonderful husband, 3 great sons, 2 beautiful daughters-in-law, 2 grandsons I adore, a warm home, plenty of good food, a car that gets me where I need to be. I still have some cleaning jobs but I have lost several over the last year. The economy. I'm praying the Lord would send me some more work. All my sons need work too. They're working some here and there but nothing full time. The Lord is taking care of us all though and teaching us to depend on Him more and what is really important.

We did have a beautiful snow this past Sabbath. Here's one picture I took.

Vacation

Went on a wonderful vacation with my honey October 2, his birthday. We went to Ocracoke, NC for a week. Lots of fishing, painting, drawing, reading and enjoying being together. It's a beautiful place. Very relaxing. Next year I'd like my whole family to go and rent a house on the beach.

Last Tuesday was first day back to reality. Lewis sure didn't want to go to work.

Yesterday, we got our 2 grandsons. They are going home in a few. Braden is almost 3. He's sitting here drawing and singing in Spanish. He sings so good. A.J. is napping.

Tommorrow it's back to work. Thank you, Lord for work and for the weekends.

09/09/09

That's an unusual date. My grandson called me today. He's almost 3. He probably had some help.

I'm so thankful for my family. So many family with needs. So many people with needs for Jesus in their lives. I pray for them. Especially for the family to know Jesus and trust in Him with their whole heart and lean not on their own understanding.
